ABS Horn Ring Question Posted by bert [Email] ![]() ![]() |
I had to remove the airbag and steering wheel to fix/replace the non existing bushing that sits between the steering column and the bearing. It must have been deteriorated during the years. I could only find some small pieces/remains. I fixed it with a piece of a regular heater hose, why spend 20 bucks on a piece of plastic. Anyways, I'm coming to my question: Since my SRS light was blinking since I got the car 5 years ago I wanted to find out if the ABS horn ring is toast. The black horn wires are ok when checked with a Ohm Meter. The ABS wires are kind of wired, or maybe NOT?
On One side I have an orange and red, 2wire/plug on the other side a very small 2pin white plug that connect's to the actual airbag. When testing each single wire, red/orange, I get a peak reading on both pins of the white 2pin connector. So each single wire (red/orange) powers both pin's of the small white plug. Is this normal or the reason why the SRS light is flashing?
