1988 Turbo - For no apparent reason the idle will kick up to 2000 rpm and sit there. Also after 4-5 hours of driving the idle won't kick down when in neutral... I thought it might be a sticking throttle cable, but that doesn't account for the random 'kick up' I blew some MAF cleaner through the AMM this weekend, but had same issue this morning - The sticking at high idle occurs only after extended driving - and even when I force it down, it still rides back up... Sooo do I change out the Jetronic, clean the AIC, replace the TPS or all the above ?
I've also got an issue - I think with the fuel pump where - again, after 4-5 hours driving - I get a stagger, shudder, as though the pre-pump's cutting out - I drove 8 hours this weekend and got to the corner of me street and had it cut out - so I had to tow rope my car three houses ... 20 minutes later it started right up.
Observations welcome
