so I've done the headliner + in the process reinstalling. This is my first one, and I'd probably do a few things differently a second time, but I wanted to ask advice of those of you more seasoned at headliners: how do you get the front window seal back over the headliner (and similarly the rear window seal in the 4 door, which this is)??
Details of where I'm at: brought the headliner in through the trunk, fit it up above the A pillars, attempted to flip window seal on the back to hold it up, but that was hopeless, so instead installed rear grab handles... I've installed some more of the trim + handles since, but I don't think that would make much difference, the front edge of the headliner will bend down except at the A pillars... I'm now trying to flip the window seal over in the front + I can make some progress with a pair of tire levers (from the bike toolkit), but can't seem to grab the seal at either end (held tight by A pillars), only the middle so I was hoping to work out to the ends, but I get 6 to 8" of it flipped over + the stuff in the middle slides back underneath the headliner. Very frustrating! any tips?? I've tried jamming a window scraper between the 2 tire levers, but that hasn't been a great help. I have a bad feeling I need to pull everything again, slide the headliner out from the A pillars and fuss with the front window seal at that stage of the install... is that correct??
I think one of my problems is I trimmed the headliner 1" or so around the outside, folded that over + spray glued it to the back + this thickness gets in the way (especially where this is the thick headliner material).
Anyway, any tips/suggestions would be much appreciated. thanks!
James...
