Let Sleeping Dogs Lie?

The clutch pedal began to go soft at intervals recently on my 88 900TC, sometimes it was fine, sometimes there was very little action at the slave. I thought that crap in the fluid might be the culprit and sure enough the reservoir looked like it contained unrefined crude.
It was already my plan to replace the front mount (thereby revealing the slave nipple) so I flushed the clutch hydraulics (the old fluid had black particles in it) and now it works gangbusters. I also did a partial bleed of a rear brake cylinder to ensure the fluid in the master is all clean, (I'll do a complete bleed of the brakes as soon as I get my Motive Power bleeder - thank you whoever recommended it).
My question: do I rebuild the clutch master cylinder now while the slave is accessible (I have the kit) bearing in mind I don't want to also replace the slave, or do I let sleeping dogs lie and just put it back together without further investigation?
Thanks in advance!
