It depends largely on:

a) what year car you're going from, and what year car you're going to...
b) are you swapping between an 8V and a 16V? Or 16V and 8V?
c) do you have BOTH vehicles available during the swap?
d) do you want/need APC?

The easiest conversions will always be 8V to 8V or 16V to 16V, withing the SAME MODEL YEAR. You can do 8V to 16V swaps, or v-v, but they will be much more time consuming, and complex.

A 16v-16v swap, using the SAME generation LH (2.2-2.2 or 2.4-2.4) is easy. Just disconnect all the LH wires, lift the harness off the motor & drape it over the fender. Swap motors, and connect everything back up to the new motor. Swapping between LH versions (2.2-2.4), means removing the LH controller, bracket, and replacing the LH wiring harness. Be aware that LH 2.4 started on the NON-turbo 16v at least a year before it got to the turbo.

8V-16V swaps are harder. Some folks re-use the CIS injection on the 16v. Their choice, but I wouldn't do it. I would much rather stick with the LH.

If you have an early car (up to 87/88), the speedo needs to be changed for LH 2.4 (even if the car had LH 2.2...), because the LH depends on a speed reading from it.

APC? If you need/want it, you'll need the entire engine bay wiring harness (APC wires are NOT on the LH harness). If you use a 1986-APC, that should be all you need. If you use the earlier APC, you'll also need the rest of the car wiring harness for the under-seat mounted APC.

An option, if you're going from a 16v non-turbo to a 16v turbo is to leave APC out of it, and use the EZK Electronic ignition that the 16v non-t had. At worst, you'll have to install an EZK distributor or crank sensor & shutter wheel behind a non-t crank pulley on your turbo motor. But the EZK retards the spark upon knock, and in stock performance applications, can deal with the normal knocking from various grades of gas.

But again, if you're going between years, or between certain models, you may have a few small issues with the wiring. Go through the wiring diagrams carefully for the years you're looking at. You don't want to end up accidentally connecting the battery positive straight to ground, and burning the harness up!
