I towed my '87 900 Turbo from Atlanta all the way to Louisiana (an 8-hour drive) using a '98 Ford F150 1/2 ton shortbed pickup and the 2-wheel "towing dolly" that was rented from U-Haul. Although the trip was entirely interstate highway driving, and even though it is pretty hilly going through Birmingham, AL, the 1/2 ton truck towed the Saab effortlessly. I did not even notice that I was towing anything!-----had to keep glancing in the mirror to make sure I hadn't "lost" the Saab. I'd recommend the tow dolly if you rent one that is in a newer condition (all of U-Haul's units were almost brand new)------just make sure you have excellent tires on both the tow dolly and the rear of your towed Saab (you obviously don't want to risk the chance of blow-outs on either). A trailer isn't necessary to tow the Saab, unless you already own one, just rent the tow dolly & you'll be amazed how easy this will be.
