All,
Just converted the girlfriends 91TC to 134A. Nice tight system, conversion AOK. However the 30A fuse immediately blew when I toggled the dash switch. I swapped in a spare AC relay, same result. In order to complete the AC charging, I had to straight wire the compressor off the battery.....no issues, full charge and the system performed well (at highway speeds...good condensor delta T. For grins, I popped another fuse in with the compressor lead disconnected, and it blew again! So the compressor is not the culprit.
Looked thru my Bentley manual, and not a lot of electrical hardware in that AC control circuit....dash switch, relays, and a couple other paths to ground. Searched the archives here and couldn't find any good threads on blown fuses that weren't compressor issues (mine is fine). No obvious bare wires in the engine harness, but I'll look closer at it tonight.
With all the folks keeping these old Swedes running, hopefully someone has run into this? Please advise, I'd like to get the knee bolster back in stalled so the interior can be reinstalled.
TIA
