ZAAB,
I have had about 10 900's going back to 1987 (my first was new 1987 900S). Between my wife and my two daughters, I have done about everything on classic 900's (back yard mechanic). My wife and daughters now have 9-3s, but I still got my 1994 900T convertible-I am holding out :)....there is connector on passenger fender you can hook a DVM and check volt.I forget what is suppose to be hot (400-600 mV maybe?), but you can search on BB and get details...I never had the ignition AMP fail on any my 900's...Also check for vac. leaks, and the hall cable/connector going to distributor can get brittle and any movement can cause stalling..Make sure intake air hoses are all tight..
