The original tops were German Happach (sp?) canvas. You can still get that from certain online retailers--it ain't cheap. Or you can get stayfast canvass, which is what most tops are replaced with. Don't get vinyl--that's just wrong. If you are getting it done professionally, they will supply the top. Just specify what you want (German or stayfast). If you are DIYing, just price shop online. There are plenty of quality top suppliers. If you need installation instructions, go to the Townsend Imports website and download the PDF.
The power seat backs are driven by a motor. The motor has two flexible drive shafts, one drives each side. If the seat is twisting, then one of the cable sheaths (the jacket that the drive cable rides in) is broken and will need to be repaired or replaced. You need to take the seat out of the car and flip it over to access the cable sheaths to R&R them. eeuroparts . com has new cable sheaths. Search this board for "twisted seat" or "cable sheath" and you'll find all the info you need to repair them.
Congrats on your c900 purchase! Don't be a stranger.
