The ECU fires the fuel pump when it sees the pulse from the ignition amplifier that indicates the motor is turning. This also causes ECU to open and close the fuel injectors. If you have spark, and fuel pump operates, but no-start, its likely that the fuel injectors are not cycling. In the big black wire harness coming from the ECU into the engine compartment on the passenger side, there is a blue/white wire that goes to a plug with a 5 amp fuse (that then goes to the O2 sensor). When cranking the motor, the upstream end of that wire should carry 12 volts. This wire gets its juice from the same source as the fuel injectors. Even if you get 12 volts, the injectors may still not cycle if the ECU "ground" signal doesn't get to them.
it may come down to wires rather than components.
