There was a problem a couple years ago where factory oil filters on some cars (not Saab) had a filter gasket that tended to stick to filter housing. If not removed, new filter ended up having its own plus old gasket between it and housing. Seals would hold pressure until oil got hot enough, then fail suddenly dumping oil quickly. Also potential leakage from gasket between oil filter housing and engine block. Also potential leakage from oil cooler lines on turbo engines.
