Anyone interested in a DIY-timeshare scenario? Posted by gfreshski1 [Email] (#1116) [Profile/Gallery] (more from gfreshski1) on Mon, 6 Sep 2010 15:39:11 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I was thinking this past weekend, how cool it would be if there was a group of people (between 4 and 8) who agreed to put in say 30 hours a year of work in someone's home garage in exchange for some work on their own Saab.
So maybe once a month, maybe a saturday, from 11 - 5, this DIY Group meets at someone's garage or driveway. For the year, they have to complete 30 hours (5 days, 6 hrs/day), and they help work on other peoples Saabs.
In exchange, they get a full day or 2 to have work done on their very own Saab. Need that headliner replaced? Want to pull the dash and change the bulbs and cables? Want that trick armrest installed? Need a complete brake rebuild? Get your parts from one of those online places, then use your personal DIY workday and get it all done!
If anyone is interested in starting something like this up, or if you know of something like this that is already happening, let me know. I live in NYC, but I'd be willing to go up to 100 or so miles out to do this.
Also, let me know if you're interested in being a part of something like this, and maybe we can organize it! At any rate, all the best on this holiday weekend.
