Dan,
Since Saab used the same wiring harness for manual and automatic cars bypassing the neutral safety switch is super easy. The switch has two large yellow wires, one or both may have red stripes. One ends with a 1/4" female that will be attached to the ignition switch at terminal 50 and the other ends with a 1/4" male with a plastic shroud. Grab the wire that's attached to the latter one and put it in place of the former on the ignition switch. then both yellow pigtails from the N.S.S. will just be flapping in the breeze, there's no need for a jumper or anything. Just don't start it in gear. There are plenty of used N.S.S.s around, just find someone that's done or is doing the automatic to manual swap.
