Wellll... the typ cable issue is when the Pulley comes off the wiper shaft and the Drivers side wiper no longer works . Grab it wiper and if it's v easily moveable then it's the pulley off the shaft issue. Very Common (expected!) by the way. Mine has done this twice (in 25 years, though)
Locktite the pulley back on AFTER figuring out How? the wee cable routes :-)
If the wipers are still firmly attached then it's a motor/ contact switch issue so you will have to open up the motor assembly.
Removing the motor is as simple as undoing all the bolts It comes out easily actually.
