I have an '85 SPG project car... went to a junkyard to pillage the wiring off an '89. The door wiring was a real b*tch, I remember. My problem was getting the bulky connectors through the narrow hole, where the wiring passes through the door on its way to the engine. Taking the door panel completely off, I was able to remove the wiring or most if it without disturbing the window mechanism. It was a while ago, so my memory might not be so great. I may have had to cut off the bulky connector. I'll try to look in my box of wiring to see what I did.
(I have a lot more wiring work to do on the project car. My problem is accessing the wiring in front of the radiator. I'm back and forth on whether to bother or not, but it's a great car when it runs. I've been somewhat away from this board since I pretty much stopped driving my 91 900 tc in favor of an 03 9-5. Traitorous, I know.)
