I am still chasing the stuck-in-base-boost issue I have with my '91 SPG.

Disconnected the W-hose from the solenoid and drove it for a while. Great boost up to yellow-red line than I released pedal. Did this 5 times everytime great boost.

Then re-checked all apc-components per Townsend link. All checked out ok.

Tapped the knock sensor at idle and at 2000rpm. Lot's of chatter from the solenoid so that's ok too.

Then moved to the ignition wire and measure voltage with car at idle (should be block signal I know) so that's fine too.'

Then checked pressure transducer and all values check out ok according spec.

Then went for a testdrive with hose from pressure transducer detached and port at intake blocked. Hooked on a pressure gauge to intake manifold and took a spin. Since the pressure transducer is detached it measures atmosphere all the time. I get heavy boost up and beyond 0.8 bar.

Retested the transducer (with key ON) as per Townsend and found that solenoid starts chattering around 0.2 bar ???!

Townsend says pump up to 0.5 bar and it should start chattering. Mine starts at 0.2 bar? So is it faulty?

Could any one out there hook up there mity-vac to the line from pressure transducer with key ON (car off) and see where your solenoid starts chattering?

This would really help me. Since I don't have a transducer to simply swap I want to make a comparison before I buy one.

Thanks !!
