always get a laugh out of "altered" rotors :-)
Drilled AND slotted rotors MUST have sharp edges on their holes. It's the sharp edges sweeping past the brake pads that continually wipe(scrape) off the pads surface under heavy use, exposing fresh friction material that IS their sole purpose. Note also that the holes / slots Must cover every square millimeter of the pad surface, every rotation.
This does reduce pad life somewhat .. Gee who woulda thought..But it IS a 'max perf/race setup' after all :-)
So aftermarket rotors come with chamfered edges. Because they look Cool and don't eat pads. Gawd forbid that the shmuck buyers would have to face increased pad wear... then Demand refunds.
Chamfer the edges and the holes/slots are purely Decorative.
Rice Boy market..comes to mind.
Brochure babble talks of gassing off and water expulsion... OK :-)
Don't believe any of the above ?? do your own research, as this ain't news.
IMO Buy a set of fairly inexpensive ..Unmoleste.. Brembo rotors and forget about the holes :-) Likely the same price if not cheaper than grinding those discs.
