gremlins Posted by DougM [Email] (#211) [Profile/Gallery] (more from DougM) on Thu, 2 Dec 2010 16:45:12 In Reply to: Speedometer not working properly, Westminster, Thu, 2 Dec 2010 15:53:40 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
My 88 900T has electrical gremlins as well. The speedometer was replaced many years ago, but about 5 years ago, the speed started showing higher than I was actually going. Then the needle just started pegging off the upper limit, that is until it broke off. Now the center drive just spins in circles as I drive. I relied on the tach to gauge my speed, but a few months back it started acting up, not registering at times, but lately it works most of the time.
The clock did not work when I bought the car, but the past month it has been working flawlessly....can't figure that one out.
The lights for the instrument cluster aren't working anymore for me, but this is all just recent too. The left side went out first, then the right, but the right would work if I smacked the top of the dash. Now neither of them work. I'd say the bulbs need replaced, or there's a loose connection to the cluster. It's too cold for me to even care right now.
My temp control lights haven't worked in a year or two, but started working again recently. All I did was turn the rheostat control on the left side of the dash, and voila!
