I've done this before on another C900 but this time I have a problem. I moved the AC out of the way and loosened the pivot bolt, but I found that the front (toward front of car) 6mm allen bolt for the alternator bracket was totally stripped and extremely tight. After a lot of struggles I tried a torx bit, so now it's really stripped. So I can't get the one allen bolt out to allow me to pivot the bracket and remove the pivot bolt. The only solution I can think of is to cut the pivot bolt and then remove the oil filter housing so I can put a new bolt in from the other direction (is it necessary to remove the filter housing?) Anyone have any other ideas? Even if I could get a hold of the allen bolt, it's so tight I don't think I can turn it with a vise grip. Thanks for any ideas you have.
