I would replace the rubber hose I'll bet its old and brittle.Some may argue you can't use rubber hose on the fuel injection system but thats what is on my brothers subaru and they do manufacture high press fuel rated hose available at any auto parts store,be sure to pick up the fuel line hose as well,it looks like a breeze clamp but its clamping action is more evenly placed,besides if it is a return line it would be on the low press side of the system anyway.good luck(come to think of it,rubber hose is what volvo used for the return on my 740 wagon).
