I think the problem with these sending units is that they are not cut with a tapered thread. I, and others have had difficulty with them snapping off -- on one sender, I was only able to insert it perhaps two turns and it broke off.
After examining an original one, it had a taper in the threaded section to mate with the head. In the end, it was some teflon type tape that helped to advance the sensor deep enough so it would not leak.
Several communications with Eeuroparts were made to describe this problem -- not knowing where Daryle purchased it doesn't mean it was strictly an Eeuroparts issue -- the manufacturer was FAE of the ones I saw with straight cut threads that were prone to breaking.
