I could use some advice from all of you c900 "collectors". We currently have 2 c900 daily drivers + no other cars. Neither have much value (NA sedans) but are great fun to drive. One is in better shape (not quite showroom, but good) than the other and neither is unsafe. We currently use them as 1 car (winter/summer). For practical reasons (have young children, need to drive thousands of miles occasionally + can't risk breakdown), we are looking to get a newer Saab. So far our "touring car" has come from Hertz, and while economical in some ways (vs insurance on a new car) to be honest, I'm sick of paying thousands to drive crappy rentals on long trips... (I wish I could rent a new Saab! or even Volvo! no luck!)

I would like to keep the good c900 as indefinitely as we can, possibly cannibalizing the (slowly rusting) winter car once it's autobox goes... it's full of great parts! but... we only really *need* 1 or maybe 2 cars (1.5?)... and I want to minimize insurance + registration costs...

I know many of you have 3 or 4 (or 7!!) cars... how do you do it?

I was thinking of continuing with the winter/summer car thing with the c900s until the winter beater dies, and using the c900 winter beater as the winter commuter (to reduce the hard earned commuting miles on the newer car)... summer commute is mostly biking (short 7k commute)... planning on only having 2 cars insured at once, but all 3 registered/plated... we've got a 2 car garage, but narrow-ish driveway, so a little juggling would happen...

thoughts?
