I've got that issue resolved, I posted a brief (probably too brief) report available at the link below. Now I'm a happy owner of 10 + 25 those screws:
25 screws from some US ebay shop ($2.10 each + $39 for USPS Express Intl shipping)
10 custom-made in some local shop ($65 total for blanks and labor) - these dudes told me that they were not sure that the order will be success (I gave them M8 screws as blanks to be machined into 1/4 screws). I love inner hex heads (aka alien hey heads) and those given M8 screws have 4mm hex holes that is a bit too much for M6 (or 1/4") screw. But it turned out to be ok for them to make it and later ordered for just in case US screws are now laying on a shelve... just in case.

If anyone will be in a similar issue and will use TSN search: door lock plate screws are 1/4-20, not M6x1.25 (though pretty close: in metric it's M6.2x1.27)
