Could be the temp sensor. Also, car will run rich if the sensor is unplugged (ECU thinks you're at the North Pole in January).
O2 sensor plays a large role in fuel, but is only on-line when warm; therefore, during warm-up, if the car is rich, you can rule it out. (O2 sensor is also ignored at wide-open-throttle.)
Could be air mass meter. A bad, clean air mass meter will not make the car run better.
