I'd wager clogged injectors. Remove the fuel rail w/ injectors, lay them on a cloth, disconnect the ignition coil (*at* the coil), and have someone crank the engine. You should get a nice even spray pattern. I've had this exact scenario twice on cars that have been sitting, both times it was the injectors. Once I was able to soak them in techron for a day and revive them, the other set was tossed.
Of course, if you have a spare set of injectors that you know are good, try swapping them. I keep a spare rail/FPR/injectora around just for this reason! :)
