...to pay yourself... I don't carry more than the basics on our c900s because neither are perfectly mint + I know I could buy another or diy repair any damages for less I'd pay for a few years of the extra insurance premium...
we have a 2004 9-5 also. I'm seriously thinking of doing the same on it, because we paid so little for it up front... *but* there's no guarantee I could find another that cheaply + in the event of a bad collision, insurance might pay out more than I paid... I think in another year or so (once the 2004's depreciate a little more), I will take damages coverages off that car as well... I regularly see decent c900s for sale around $1-2k (or less if in need of work) + damage like this case above, I could probably wrangle for less than my deductible (diy)...
the historic car insurance sounds very appealing, except they seem to be very restrictive on use (can't even drive to the mall!?!)... we still use the c900s for everyday tasks, though we don't put a lot of miles on per year...
