cap + rotor are so cheap and easy, that if they are not fairly new +/or not bosch, I would replace them just out of principle. Cables sound fine. Are you using NGK plugs?
I'm not sure where you're located, and this may be a northern problem (where there are big temperature extremes?), but I'm finding it very common up here: crumbling battery cable insulation... something to check for while you're doing other things... the prime area (found on both our c900s) is the + battery cable around the hold down to the chassis between the battery and the engine... that clamp is down low + very exposed to moisture from the road + the wire gets stressed between that point and the battery every time it is disconnected...
I'm not saying either of these are necessarily your problem, but a good starting point nonetheless... I think you're looking for moisture penetration of otherwise insulated electrical parts... possibly, cautious spraying of wd40 might help to diagnose the specific problem spot (vs widespread "prophylactic" spraying)?
