7517014 Update and AIC ? Posted by nateh89spg [Email] ![]() ![]() |
So on Ander's suggestion, I purchased the 9000 rubber hose p/n 7519697 from a site sponser after having them measure the start of the hose to the water outlet (approximately 12"). I removed the metal portion of my failed hose assembly, boiled the new rubber hose to make it more pliable and "slid" the metal portion into place. It wasn't easy but it appears to be a success.
Now, does anyone know how tight the tolerances are on the resistance for the AIC? After replacing the hose (I had removed and "cleaned" the AIC for easier access) the car ran like trash. After I got the 3000 rpm idle down to approximate normalcy, idle is lumpy and wants to stall when cold. I also now hear what sounds like a massive vacuum leak coming from the AIC. Unplugging the AIC make no change in the running of the car. Measuring the resistance per the Bentley, I get 23.5 ohms, 20~ ohm and 45.5 ohms (between the various pins). Now the "good" tolerance is +/- 2 ohms at 20 and +/- 4 ohms at 40 so I am thinking I must have damaged the AIC when removed and cleaned so looks like I'm in for another AIC. Thoughts?
