Saabers, a few days ago, I posted about accidentally going over a cement parking stop, that was installed in a stupid place. It tore the exhaust off, and the car just does not feel the same.
Now, the second/third gears feel more notchy, yet before there was not a problem.
If I shift quickly, the resistance is such, that it feel like it is short of grinding, even though it has not reached this point. The only way it goes in relatively smoothly, is if I allow the rpms to drop a bit
Isn't this the symptom of a bad synchro?
My questions are, can a bent shifter mimic this? Can a blow to the transmission cause this?
For those who are familiar with the internals...what are the symptoms of a worn layshaft. I always replaced these for my mechanic told me to, yet always wondered the symptoms...
Again, any help appreciated. I do have a bad front motor mount, yet, would that truly caused notchy shifting? It was bad before, and the shifting was not notchy.
Pissed off, for I just placed this box in last month.
