Ford isn't the mfr of that beast. The builder must be the outfit that trademarked the GT40 name and tried to sell it to Ford for 40M USD. Not much of a replica in that they call it a MkII but has scoops like the MkIV and then some......the recent Ford produced "Ford GT" was going to be called the GT40 but someone had taken the trademark.
Don't get me wrong, that this is a cool car, but after being at the fundraiser for the Shelby American Collection last weekend where there were real Ford GTs dripping all over the place, a replica is just that......
Carroll Shelby was there with Bob Bondurant and the remnants of the 1965-1966 LeMans Ford GT team that beat Ferrari and came in 1-2-3. Carroll gave a particularly funny speech talking about those "executives" at Ford who for the 1966 season hired a "bunch of dirt track racers" ......referring to Mario Andretti and AJ Foyt. He is just as gnarly as he has always been.
