The shutter wheel / window wheel / whatever you want to call it should be firmly attached to the dist. shaft, so, yeah, that wobble's not good.
Pull hard and the rotor comes off. If it happens to be the original rotor, it may have some adhesive on it, making it a bit harder to get off. Kill it with Vise Grips, if necessary. Per Saab, you do not need to apply adhesive to a replacement rotor; it's a snug press-fit without glue.
The only difference between a run-of-the-mill LH2.4 Turbo distributor and your red box distributor (there were no LH2.2 red box distributors) is the vacuum capsule, which provides a more linear timing curve. The difference isn't huge. Just install your spare to see if your boost returns. If it does, put the red box vac. capsule on your spare distributor and now you have a red box distributor that functions.
