The last time I pulled the drive train (to replace the engine), I left the slave attached to it's hydraulic line so that I did not need to bleed the system and I thought it was a lot less work. Remove both radiator fans and all of the turbo piping, then have helper depress the clutch pedal and fit the retaining ring. Then remove the input shaft cover and the little plastic propeller, thread in a bolt, and tap the input shaft out, sliding it forward until it touches the radiator (you will not be able to completely remove it unless the radiator is taken out). This will provide enough clearance to reach the three allen wrench screws that must be removed to take out the slave. Undo the bolts on the pressure plate, and you can lift the entire slave, PP, and clutch assembly out. It is only slightly awkward to have to deal with the slave, but much less work than having to bleed it later, IMHO.
Zip tie the slave to the driver's side firewall, puch the input shaft back and proceed with pulling the drivetrain. You can remove the input shaft as soon as the engine is raised high enough for the opening to clear the radiator. Reverse the process on re-installation.
BTW, one of these makes the job of removing the three allen screws infinitely less aggravating: http://www.chapmanmfg.com/
