If you're doing it with the head on the car, you'll also need something to keep the valves seated. You can either get an adapter that screws into the spark plug hole that you connect an air compressor to to keep the valves seated with pressure, or you can sneak the end of a piece of rope down through the spark plug hole and crank the piston up by hand to snug the valve up closed.
You also need a valve seal pliers to remove them over the valves. You may be able to get them off with a needle nose plier or a set of forceps.
Be sure that you use something to protect the walls around the springs. If you scratch or score them the hydraulic lifters won't work as effectively. SAAB makes a plastic liner for the job. I've heard of people using a pill bottle with the bottom cut off to make a cylinder to fit in there.
Lastly you need something to seat the new seals. I've used a piece of PVC pipe that just fits over the metal rim of the seal. You can just gently tap them down with a hammer on the end of the pipe. The pipe slides over the valve stem nicely. I think I used 1/2" pipe.
