Hey guys,
The steering rack of my 86 turbo and the area surrounding it is coated in oil. The rack sprung a leak out the tie rod end so I ordered a rebuilt one. Tonight I removed the old rack (whew what a wrestling match) and had a thought. Now that the rack is out, should I replace the pump as well? There's oil on the bottom of the pump, but there's so much residual fluid coating everything, it's impossible to tell if the pump is leaking as well. I do have new lines to replace the old ones.
On one hand, I'm not inclined to spend more money, but in for a dime in for a dollar. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Larry
