There's no sub output on the Saab Clarion radios.
I find the Saab-Clarions to sound quite good. But with having all the other electronics in my life, I also find it is just easier to install an aftermarket unit with all the trimmings. Bluetooth, iPod/USB/Aux in, etc. They're so cheap these days.
Saab brought good quality radios in with the Saab-Clarions, but they still cheaped out on the most important part, IMO - the speakers.
In most cases, the speakers that came with the car can't be called 'Quality' But sometime around 90 or 91, they started getting better, with plastic cones, etc. Still not great with small, single drivers, usually, and poor locations.
it's hard to find good speakers to replace the rear speakers because of size and location. I gave up, and switched to installing a 6.5" separate system in my 3 doors, in a very similar manner to the speakers on a C900 CV. The big driver goes flat in the side panels at the rear seat (above the armrest), and the tweeters go right next to them, or on the armrest. That'll make the Saab-Clarion - or any aftermarket unit - sound very good.
