clutch slip questions

If a clutch is in good condition and functioning correctly , on an 88spg with stock boost levels , can it momentarily loose its normal friction levels if worked very hard by gradually engaging the clutch under hard acceleration in order to lessen the shock load on the tranny when shifting in lower gears ? In other words could the clutch temporarily loose its ability to hold once in gear and accelerating , because it was stressed and overheated . Can this occur with a healthy clutch ? Thanks in advance for answers . My clutch felt like it slipped once the pedal was fully released ( through 2 gears while accelerating ) after I worked it much harder than I normally do . After a couple of moments everything behaved normally again and the in gear clutch slippage during acceleration did not happen again with the spirited driving that is normal for me .
