Detailing Question ....

Thanks to some generous friends, for my recent birthday I got a Porter-Cable orbital buffer and a bunch of Wolfgang car care products. Being pretty much a zip-wax kind of guy for a pretty long time, it started to dawn on me that it might be a good idea to take better car of my car's paint .... and the fact that i NEVER see classic 900's on the road here in philly, i've started to get really possessive about my '93 and much more serious about maintaining the car's paint. anyway, to make a long story short - after clay baring the car, polishing the paint, applying a finishing glaze and paint sealant -about 6 hours spread over two days - my fears that the car wouldn't look substantially different were unfounded. i have a glassy, glossy, mirrored surface now (which feels amazing to the touch) and overall the car looks so much better - not PERFECT, mind you - i have some pitted paint and some very small scratches here and there (after all - it's 18 year old paint) - but the improvement is very real and i'm very glad i spent the time doing this. anyway, wondering if a lot of you guys have done this kind of detail work and if your results were similar. keeping in mind, my car is NOT a showcar, but an everyday driving car- curious if a lot of owners here, on a regular basis, do more than just your basic wash and wax.
my QUESTION, though - any good products out there than will help to restore the black plastic moldings on the car??? my bumpers are fine, though. anyone ever use smartgel? supposed to be a good black plastic restorer.
Thanks for any recommendations!
