It's thrilling, isn't it? I've bought two that way. The last one was a 1980 900 turbo. No pics, only a positive description from the owner who had not even seen the car in over a year since he had moved across the country and left it. I took a really sketchy bus to Eugene, OR. On the way I sat next to a guy who had just gotten deported from Mexico where he had gone to escape jail time in the US for drugs, etc. Wasn't even sure if the car would start, but was banking on it since I had only 1 day to get home for work and no money for a return flight! Would have had to hitchhike. Luckily, she started right up after a year sitting. Made the 14 hour drive home without a hitch! At one point, I was soaring up along the Hood River when I stopped to check my fluids and a guy in a newer Mustang pulled up. "DANG MAN!!! YOU FLEEEEEW BY ME!!! WHAT KIND OF CAR IS THAT?!?!" he exclaimed. I told him it was a 1980 Saab 900 turbo and he nearly flipped. I think he actually drooled on my mechanical fuel injectors.
