Thanks Larry. I was basing my 35 miles on about a gallon and a half being left in the tank when the light comes on, not any kind of legitimate electronically calculated number. Can't recall where I had read the 35 miles on average left when the light comes on thing--: headscratch :.
Anyway, I've had senders pulled apart before, and yes, they are just a float-type sender. I was hoping there was some kind of sensitivity setting for the light at the other end. Wishful thinking I guess. I may pull my sender to see if the float isn't going all the way down to the bottom of the sender or something crazy like that. I know if the canister gets twisted on the cap it can get the internals snarfed.
If the stated spec is 2-2.5 gallons, then I guess I'm not far off from where I should be anyway.
