I took off the AC fan belt and it fought when I pulled it out -- not a big fight, but when I tried to install it, there was no easy slip on to the crank pulley. After a series of Danish curse words, it still wouldn't slip on the lower portion of the pulley. I ran out of time, but from under the car, I noticed that the power steering line was close enough to the pulley that the fan belt would have to be forced in between the two.
So, since the fan belt just slipped in the last time about a year ago when I installed it new, do you think that the motor mount has collapsed enough that the gap between the PS line and the crank pulley has been reduced preventing the belt from just slipping on ?
