The power antenna is grounded to the body, so make sure you do that. The red wire is power from the battery. The green is to the stereo's antenna out lead.
Power antennas don't work like you think they do - when the stereo applies +12v to the green wire, the antenna goes up. When power is removed, the antenna goes down. That's why it's important that the red wire be connected to the battery - otherwise, if you turn the car off the antenna will stay wherever it was last.
IIRC I am not positive you are going to be able to do what you think you're going to be able to do. The '80's body by the antenna hole is not like later cars. You'll need to create your own bracket and, again, IIRC there is a fitment problem such that the power antenna motor will not be able to mount in a way that allows the antenna to go up straight. Details are foggy, but I remember there is a roadblock here.
