What to do, what to do? With my '86 900 8v Posted by Adam [Email] (#344) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Adam) on Tue, 31 Jan 2012 12:38:47 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I bought an '86 900 8v, hatch, red, 5 speed, back in Oct. with a bad clutch for $500.
Well in turned out that in was only the hydraulic line for the clutch that was bad! Score! So I thought…
Turn out that it was INFESTED with mice and ants. I took the whole interior out and stripped the dash down to the firewall (for the most part). I'm cleaning every single piece bit by bit. I think I need to get a new knee bolster and a few other unsalvageable parts. I might need to get some new wiring harnesses, though I could save them in needs be.
There are two small rust holes in the floor pan. One in the passengers side foot well and one in the rear right over the tail pipe. The engine runs, there is no bad rust anywhere other than the floor pans spots.
What worries me is my ability to put the dash assembly back together. I'm no master mechanic, though I'm not a novice by any stretch.
I just can't decide if I should part it out and find another (hard to do in the Northeast), or gut it out and work it back into shape.
Any ideas?
