Thanks for your insight. You raise a good point regarding rust. Fortunately, my 900S is not too bad, not too bad at all. I have discovered a little rust around one of the jacking points as well as a little in two of the lower corners of the wheel wells. I plan to repair those areas with my TIG welder. The windshield was replaced about three years ago and the little bit of surface rust that was there was prepared and painted. Hopefully that's not a problem now. I'll find out when I get to the point where I believe I have taken care of all leak areas. I plan to use a powerwasher to make sure. I have thoughroughly searched this forum and made a list of all possible leak areas that other 900 owners have reported. If I can find the time, I hope to organize and post this checklist. There are a LOT! It seems like the AC evaporator housing, the windshield, door seals, and the rear windows (hatchback) are top likely problem areas.
