After seeing the picture of ITech's speedometer resting on 3750 rpm at 75. Coggs I'd go crazy in a Sonnett III. JVA thanks for the info. I'll start to investigate your suggestions. It's not something I would do until a transmission problem requires attention.
Side note: The BMW was the worst car I've ever owned and the most expensive. My last straw came when said transmission would only offer up 1,3,5,7th gears. At that point my only option was to send the tranny back to Munich for a new one. Replacement cost 14,000+. I had them clear the codes and drove it to a local dealer and sold it. I know many are happy about the idea of BMW buying Saab and that's better than the certain death we now have BUT Mini has horrible quality. If the production stays in Sweden prehaps that won't be a problem. As for me I'll never have another BMW.
