fix plastic radiator Posted by PaulS [Email] (#676) [Profile/Gallery] (more from PaulS) on Thu, 23 Feb 2012 17:19:42 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Anyone have any luck repairing a radiator with plastic ends? I know they are supposedly non-repairable but I was thinking of glopping lots of RTV and hoping for the best. My thinking is that RTV will be able to "move" as things expand and contract. But it's possible that it's too hard to get the RTV to where the leak actually is and it's just a band-aid.
This is for a car that's not really worth the expense of a new rad. For one of my "good" cars, I would spring for a new one. On this car I keep putting used rads in and of course they are all at least 20 years old so they always end up leaking.
