Hi there guys. Anybody that read my post of a no-start situation after my engine/engine bay overhaul should know that I'm still not running. I have a question for anyone that might be able to help: This car , ('88 turbo vert.) has the "Saab guard" alarm installed in it. Back under the back seat, (already removed) I see the 8 pin black plug that the alarm system plugs into. Am I to assume that Saab left an open-ended 8 pin plug anticipating that an alarm would be installed there at point of purchase? In other words, If this car never had an alarm installed on it, would there be a "u-turn" type of plug that capped the 8 pin plug when an alarm was not used? I'm wondering if this Alarm is having any effect on my no start? I would like to remove the whole thing anyway as it appears to have water damage, but I'm uncertain how to remove it. Besides the 8 pin plug there are two wires, (blue and violet believe) with single plug connectors that run to it too. Any input on how to remove it without issue?, as merely trying to disable it where it sits seems to be pointless. I'd rather just have it gone.

The car IS scheduled to be picked up with a flatbed on Monday and taken to the Saab mechanic that actually rebuilt the engine. He has no fear that he will get it to run. Before it goes into 7 hours of diagnostic time at his place though, I just thought I'd ask before it left if I could help myself by just getting rid of the alarm. Any input is much appreciated.
