Depends how badly they are worn. The tripod bearings get damaged by running in worn inner drivers too so you can swap them but if there are huge pockets on the "drive" faces of the inner drivers or the tripods are failing you're just wasting your time. Thing to do is disassemble, inspect and replace the parts that are too badly worn. Put another way, swapping from side to side only works if the wear on the IDs is small and the tripods are still in excellent condition and that's hard to judge without close inspection. You may even find that they've already been swapped. Be aware that you can get rebuilt inner drivers (perfectly welded up and ground back) that are as good as new for about $75 each, exchange from Eriksson.
