The "Lowered and recalibrated" suspension (aka different shocks and springs) did not start until the 1987 model year.
Of course, 25+ years on, anything is possible...
The "SPG" springs had a gold/bronze paint splash on them, where stock springs had one of several non-metallic colors (greens, whites, reds & blues, mostly). They "SPG" springs are also thicker wire, and have fewer total coils. But that is hard to see without having one next to a stock spring.
