I know, I know, you've all heard it before. My dad bought matching 99s for himself and my mom when I was a little kid. I still remember them in the driveway and nothing else ever looked quite right. My dad bought one for me when I was in high school and had lost my license for excessive speeding and no insurance company would come near me. They suggested a car that was only worth getting liability, so he bought a '93 900s. I took that car everywhere. Later, I lived all over and came home years later from South America and my little sis had stolen my 900 (she fell asleep at the wheel and flew it off the interstate at 80mph off a 35' drop onto boulders and rolled into the trees and walked away from it. The car could have been driven home but for a busted rim and cracked open battery). It had been years since I had driven a 900 and I wanted one in the worst way. I looked forever and finally found an SPG for an affordable price ($300). It barely ran and looked terrible, but man, that feel after being away for so long was like a drink of cold water after a hot day in the sun. Narrow body, curved windshield, cracked dash and all. It even had the key broken off in the ignition and no exhaust from cat back. Headliner sagging. The real thing. I definitely didn't buy it, but I was totally hooked again. Nothing has ever felt quite right. That was like 4 years ago and I've had 13 since then. 4 in the driveway now and another on the way. My wife wants something more "dependable" but I tell her every time "If you learn how to fix it, you can buy it."
