Rocket,
there is only one way to give it such jump - to increase air flow (either thru throttle or AIC), no ignition advance variation can give you that jump (unless you've got it REALLY retarded and it suddenly comes back to specs). Since you've got an ordinary mechanical throttle then it is the AIC valve which is driven by LH ECU thru its wiring. So it is either:
- the ECU which went crazy
- the wiring from ECU to AIC valve
- AIC valve itself
- RPM sensor (in your case: it is the hall sensor in the dizzy and the ignition amplifier) which makes that bad tricks with ECU
